Next Friday and Saturday will be our annual quilt show at Parish Hall. See the poster for more information and times.
Raffle for the quilt giveaway are $1 per ticket or 6 for $5. You can enter at the front desk of the library or at the front table during the quilt show. The winner will be drawn Saturday after the show.
If you’re entering a quilt for the show it must be turned in by THIS THURSDAY, October 9th so that we can have it up in time. Because the show will take place next Saturday, knitting is CANCELLED for next week.
We will also be having a book sale the same days, by the front desk of the library so come have a look!
Thanks SO much to everyone who came to visit us all summer for our summer reading program, we hope you had fun because we sure did! Enjoy your new books and backpacks. Here are just a few pictures from our fun summer!
There is not much going on here at the library as we make our way into August. Here is some upcoming events for September and October that may interest you:
September: Friday Morning Story time will resume in September. Time is to be announced, it will be for children who are not in school.
October: Annual Quilt Show and Book sale will be going on the week/weekend of Columbus Days! This year we will be having a special quilting presenter if you would like to sign up.

Make sure to bring your kids and join us for our Astronomy Program today from 2-4PM! This will be our final summer reading program and will be hosted by former NASA astronomer Kevin Manning!
“Kevin is a gifted astronomer, having worked as a consultant with NASA, the Chandra X-Ray Observatory launched on the space shuttle with the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, and other ground-based observatories. Kevin won national and international awards in his field, was both a Wright Fellow and an Einstein Fellow, and did some work with Brookhaven National Laboratory. Besides the numerous workshops he’s presented over the years at libraries, observatories, and science centers, some noteworthy ones include those made at Tufts University, State University of New York at Stony Brook, the National Science Teachers Association’s National Convention, American Association for the Advancement of Science Breakfast with Scientists, and the National Parks Service.”
Good afternoon! Here is an update on what’s going on in the next few weeks before school starts!
This Friday, August 1st, from 2-4PM will be our FINAL summer reading program featuring special presenter Kevin Manning. It’s going to be a blast! Make sure to return your sheets with books read on Friday along with your name and age so that we can hand out your special summer reading prizes!
Also, next week from August 5-9 will be the annual Columbus Fair, we will be closing at 5PM on those days so make sure to come in early to grab your books! We will be open our regular 10-3 on Saturday.

The End of Summer Reading Party will take place on the 24th and will be held at the pool in the morning. We are still waiting on confirmation of times and will let you know as soon as possible! The Astronomy program will take place for everyone on the same day.

Thanks to everyone who has attended our summer reading program so far this year, we’ve had an amazing turnout! It’s been a blast and thanks so much to all the community and businesses who have donated to help buy supplies. We are extremely appreciative!
Just a reminder that this week there will only be ONE children’s program and it will be at 10AM on Wednesday June 25th, downstairs. The Nutty Professor will be presenting a Science Show for all the kids so make sure to stop by!!
Our summer reading program has officially begun, starting today! It was rather rainy and stormy out this morning, so we cancelled the children’s program this morning but did have some patrons show up. Anyone who received our message and did not show up, please feel free to bring your kids in tomorrow at 10AM to enjoy the program with the school age children.
We will be reading a few books, creating Einstein hats, and our project will be Elephant Toothpaste. Stop in to have some fun!
