June Updates

First, THANK YOU to everyone who came to our book signing on the 23rd. We had a great turnout and a ton of fun. We are currently still selling Courtney Stultz’s cookbooks at the front desk for $15 if you missed the signing and are interested in purchasing the book. We would love to host another one of these events again.

Below are a few books that we’ve received at the end of this month as well as Kayla’s pick for June. We have been having a BLAST at summer reading this year and we are excited to wrap up June with 2 more programs and then head to July!

The Library will be CLOSED on July 3rd and 4th for the Holiday!

CLOSED

Computer Updates:

We are currently battling our two computers located in our YA section, we are hoping to have someone fix the computers by the end of the month, but until then, they will be out of service.

We also recently updated our system and have a new way to track times and sign ins. Patrons will now need to sign into the computers with a specific number and password and will be given 60 minutes per day. The staff can keep track of times on our main computer and a warning will pop up on the screen (the patron is using) when the patron has 5 minutes left of their time. If a patron needs more time for work, they may request one of the librarians to add more time. All patrons will need to visit the front desk to get their sign in information through their library card. If a patron does not have a card, they will be given a guest login.

If you have overdue materials or fines that haven’t been paid you will not be allowed to use the computer.

New Arrivals + Book Signing!

We posted a couple weeks ago our June newsletter and what we were ordering for June, but we just started receiving our order! You can check out the list of the books and movies below or on our previous post. We also received a large print western grant from Southeast Kansas Library System which allowed us to buy over 21 new books for our patrons. You can check these books out on our new memorial shelf at the entrance of the library!

We are also excited to announce that will be  hosting a book signing event on June 23rd from 5:30pm to 7pm. Local author Courtney Stultz recently published her first cookbook which will be on sale at the library for $15 each. You can check out her blog at http://lphjkitchen.com/.
